Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to common DracoCam questions
🚀 Getting Started
What cameras are compatible with DracoCam?
DracoCam supports most IP cameras that use standard protocols like ONVIF, RTSP, or HTTP streams. This includes cameras from major brands like Hikvision, Dahua, Axis, Ubiquiti, and many others. USB webcams with UVC support are also compatible.
Do I need special hardware to run DracoCam?
DracoCam can run on most modern computers, including Windows PCs, Mac, and x86-64 Linux systems. For best performance, we recommend at least 4GB RAM and a multi-core processor. The exact requirements depend on the number of cameras and recording quality.
How many cameras can I connect?
DracoCam supports unlimited cameras under a CondorBox membership. There are no fixed camera count limits — connect as many cameras as your hardware supports. Recording storage and playback egress are metered in Condor credits included with your membership.
Can I access my cameras remotely?
Yes! DracoCam includes secure remote access through our web dashboard. You can view live streams, review recordings, and manage settings from anywhere with an internet connection using any web browser.
💾 Storage and Recording
How much storage space do I need?
Storage requirements vary based on recording quality and frame rate. As a rough estimate, 1080p recording uses about 1-2GB per camera per day. Storage and playback egress are metered in Condor credits, which are granted monthly with your CondorBox membership.
Where are recordings stored?
Recordings are stored in DracoCam's secure cloud storage. Your recordings are automatically backed up and accessible from anywhere through the web dashboard.
How long are recordings kept?
Recordings are retained while your CondorBox membership is active and credits are available. After membership ends, a 30-day grace period preserves your recordings before permanent deletion.
Can I download recordings?
Absolutely! You can download individual recordings or bulk export multiple files. Recordings are saved in standard MP4 format, compatible with any video player. Batch downloads are compressed for faster transfer.
🔐 Security and Privacy
How secure is my video data?
DracoCam uses industry-standard security including AES encryption for stored data, TLS encryption for data in transit, and secure authentication protocols. Your videos are encrypted both in transit and at rest.
Who can access my cameras?
DracoCam secures your cameras with authenticated access — only you can view and control your cameras through the dashboard.
Is my data shared with third parties?
No, we never share your video data with third parties. Your recordings are accessible only to your account. See our Privacy Policy for complete details on data handling.
Can I run DracoCam offline?
Yes, DracoCam can operate in offline mode for local recording and monitoring. An internet connection is only required for remote access, cloud features, and software updates.
⚙️ Technical Questions
What network bandwidth do I need?
Bandwidth requirements depend on camera resolution and frame rate. For remote viewing, plan for about 2-8 Mbps upload per camera. Local recording uses minimal bandwidth. The dashboard shows camera status, recordings, and storage usage.
Can I use WiFi cameras?
Yes, WiFi cameras work well with DracoCam, though wired connections are recommended for reliability and performance. Ensure your WiFi network has sufficient bandwidth and stable connectivity for all cameras.
Does DracoCam support motion detection?
Yes, DracoCam includes motion detection with whole-frame analysis and ML-based object classification. AI-powered detection can distinguish between people, vehicles, and other objects to reduce false alerts.
Can I integrate with other security systems?
DracoCam supports push notifications via FCM (Firebase Cloud Messaging) and email alerts to keep you informed of detection events.
